You should read this Policy before you submit any personal information to us. By using our Sites and Services, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as outlined in this Policy. If you do not agree with the content of this Policy, you should refrain from using our Sites and Services.
Personally Identifiable Information We Collect
We collect personally identifiable information when you provide it to us, such as when you register for membership, sign up for email newsletters, or to otherwise communicate with us. Many of the services that we offer, including but not limited to newsletters and the ProspectOne, require registration as a condition of use; when you register with one of our sites you are no longer anonymous. We may also receive information about you from other sources and add it to the information you have provided to us. Information that you provide to us can be used by ProspectOne and shared with sponsors of the ProspectOne site(s).
If you do not want this information disclosed to a Content Sponsor, do not request Sponsored Content. ProspectOne’s customer agreements with the Content Sponsors: (a) provide that the Content Sponsor may use this information to contact you via common methods of communication; and (b) prohibit disclosure of the information to any third party other than agents of the Content Sponsor for the permitted marketing purposes set forth above. You should contact the Content Sponsor directly if you have any questions about their use of this information. We use Member Information to deliver email newsletters on topics of interest to Members who have requested those services. We may also send general promotional and marketing materials to our Members, including marketing research surveys. ProspectOne, in some cases utilizing a third party provider, deploys surveys and incentives. We use Member Information in aggregated form to understand our customer base and to market our services to our customers.
In General, we may collect and store any personally identifiable information you provide to us. Personally identifiable information is data that identifies you, or that can be combined with other information to identify or contact you, and includes (but is not limited to) your name, business or personal physical or email address, and telephone number.
You are not obligated to provide us with any personally identifiable information, although registration is required to access the full range of information and Services offered.
If you are a ProspectOne Member and access the restricted, Members-only areas of our Sites, ProspectOne may collect additional information relating to your participation in ProspectOne Services. We also may obtain information about your access and use of ProspectOne research materials, decision-support tools, and other online and offline offerings.
Information You Provide and How it Is Displayed Online
ProspectOne is not responsible for the information you volunteer about yourself in the course of discussions in our forums, chat rooms, professional networks or other forms of publicly accessible interaction, or information that you choose to make public in your member profile. As a member, you can view, correct or change your publicly available information at any time via your member profile page. To view or change your profile, please visit the account preferences page.
What We Provide to Third Parties
The aggregate statistics that describe our online audience, which is often based on the information you provide when you subscribe, register, or browse our sites, help us sell advertising and otherwise publicize ProspectOne and its brands. The information we share under these circumstances does not contain behavioral or identifying information about any individual reader or user, unless the individual has given us permission to share that information.
We make email and postal lists of our customers available on a rental basis, to carefully screened partners and providers of quality goods and services. Many customers appreciate the offerings they receive, but here’s what to do if you don’t wish for us to share this information: Please send an email with your request to email@example.com
Any mailing sent to our lists is carefully reviewed before it is sent, and when we rent our mailing lists, we monitor them to ensure they are used only for the approved purpose.
ProspectOne also provides profile reports on specific companies, based on subscriber-reported and publicly available data, to carefully screened providers of quality goods and services. These include contact information for the company and its key personnel.
Data Services and Email Deployment
We provide customer lists and other information to select third party companies who provide specialized services, such as email message deployment, email verification, email marketing, merge-purge (identifying and removing duplicate addresses) of lists, postal mailing, subscription fulfillment, customer service and telemarketing, research, statistical analysis, and other data processing. These companies work on our behalf and do not ever own, or take over ownership of, the lists or other data sent to them.
In order to comply with the Federal CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, we also may provide lists of customers who have opted-out of email promotion for ProspectOne products to other companies, so they can be suppressed from mailings those companies send on ProspectOne’s behalf. In addition, if you unsubscribe from a mailing we send to our own list on behalf of a third party, your removal instruction may also be supplied to the third party and added to their own suppression file.
In order to best comply with CASL, the Canadian Anti-Spam Law of 2014, ProspectOne has removed all Canadian email addresses from our audience database. Beginning July 1, 2014, we will send solely to a U.S. based audience, targeting only those email addresses originating in the United States of America. ProspectOne Events, Sites and Other Services
As a ProspectOne customer, you can also expect to receive relevant email and postal offers for other ProspectOne publications, events, sites and services. From time to time we also offer specially-negotiated discounts and new products from other companies. If you would prefer not to receive such mailings, please send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org with the term “Mailing Lists” in the subject line.
Change of Ownership
The mailing list(s) associated with ProspectOne properties may also be subject to transfer to another company in the event of a change of ownership. In this event, ProspectOne or the new owner of the affected properties will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify you and provide the opportunity to remove your name from the associated mailing list(s).
